Seven to appear in court for kidnapping Wits student
Updated | By Anastasi Mokgobu
Seven suspects are due to appear in a Gauteng court soon after a Wits University student was kidnapped.

The teenager was apparently lured through the dating app Grindr.
His roommate reported him missing on Tuesday.
Police say the kidnappers demanded R30 000 from his family for his safe return.
Various units, including Gauteng Crime Intelligence and Johannesburg Metro Police K9, waited near an ATM where one of the suspects was expected to withdraw the ransom money.
He was arrested as soon as he arrived.
Police say the suspect led them to a men's hostel about 20 minutes from the university, where the 18-year-old victim was found bound and unconscious.
Six more suspects were arrested, and the young man was rushed to hospital.
Three knives and the student’s personal items were recovered.
Police say they are looking into whether the gang is linked to other cases in Gauteng with the same modus operandi.
