Service delivery decline in eThekwini, uMsunduzi: KZN Premier

In his maiden State of the Province Address, Premier Sihle Zikalala singled out eThekwini and uMsunduzi Municipalities - saying there's concern about the two municipalities' capacities to provide services
He says the Provincial Government will provide support to these and other municipalities to help build their administrative capacity and ensure the uninterrupted delivery of services.
He has also warned that government will intervene if municipalities don't heed advice.
Zikalala has also touched on this week's audit outcomes.
He says the Auditor-General's report depicts a local government that is in a terrible state and in decline.

He says the Cooperative Governance Department will assess the status of KZN's 54 municipalities, with the aim of improving the situation.
