Senzo Meyiwa murder trial to resume in September
The Senzo Meyiwa murder trial will only return to court in September after the High Court in Pretoria granted a lengthy postponement.
Judge Tshifiwa Maumela granted defence advocate Zandile Mshololo her application to postpone the matter on Tuesday.
The postponement was granted after new evidence, contained in the so-called second docket, came to light.
The docket was only handed to Mshololo last week Thursday.
Delivering his ruling on the postponement, Maumela said the court will first hear the mooted application by defence advocate Malesela Teffo on the issues of jurisdiction and the two dockets.

"Having said that, the ruling is that the application for a postponement has been granted. We should not lose sight of the fact that the legal representations of accused number one to four have issues around the dockets.
"And before we can finalise dates we have mooted issues of the process on which Adv Teffo, on behalf of accused one to four, is expected to furnish heads of arguments around the aspect of two dockets and the very vital aspect of jurisdiction of this court."
Arguments around jurisdiction is set to be heard in July.
