Suspected KZN taxi boss killers to apply for bail

Two suspected hitmen
accused of murdering a taxi boss in Amanzimtoti are expected to apply for bail
on Wednesday.

Thirty-six-year-old Simiso Gumede was shot and killed inside a supermarket in January.
Police say his assailants opened fire on him at a petrol station.
Gumede abandoned his car and ran into a nearby shop.

KZN police spokesperson Thenjiswa Ngcobo says the suspects first appeared in the Umlazi Magistrate's Court last week.
"The suspect decided to hand themselves The suspects decided to hand themselves in on 9 June 2022 when they realised that the Organised Crime and Special Investigations and Tracking Task Team was minimising their space.
“The suspects were advised to hand themselves in by their attorney when they heard that the police were working around the clock to ensure that they are brought to book.”
