Security improvement plans for SA ports of entry
Updated | By Jarryd Subroyen
Authorities say they will be intensifying efforts to crack down on criminal activities at South Africa's ports of entry.
It comes after three separate shipments worth an estimated combined value of R20 million were seized at Durban's King Shaka International Airport yesterday.
The bust included heroin, illegal skin-lightening creams and football jerseys believed to be fake.
National police spokesperson, Vish Naidoo says no arrests have been made but investigations are ongoing.

"We implemented a new revised strategy designed to suit our other ports of entry - land, sea and airport - throughout the country.
We are at an advance stage of finalising strategies for those ports which is going to be rolled out soon. The strategies we already have are going to be enhanced," he says.
