Illuminating paraffin costs dropped by R2.23 a litre.

Explaining the reasons for the price adjustments, the Department of Mineral Resources and Energy says - during the period under review - the average price of Brent Crude oil decreased from just over $35 to $20 a barrel.

This was due to the COVID-19 crisis and the lockdown imposed by the world's major economies.

The department says the Rand also depreciated, on average, against the US Dollar.

This is second record drop in fuel prices this year. Last month, petrol costs came down by almost R2 a litre.
