Search underway for boy thought drowned in Verulam

Police are looking for yet another child who is thought to have drowned - this time in Verulam, north of Durban, yesterday afternoon.

This while a nine-year-old girl who was swept away while playing in a river in Umlazi on Friday, also remains missing.

In yesterday's incident, a little boy lost his footing and fell into a stream while he was running after a ball.
"The incident happened at around about 1pm, when this boy was chasing a ball towards a stream and he drowned. The police were then alerted and they went to the scene to try and look for the child. They could not find him but they are still looking for him," says police spokesperson Colonel Thulani Zwane.
