KZN police are on the hunt for five robbers, who shot a 9-year-old boy, leaving him critically wounded.
They had robbed a family at a home in La Mercy, on the north coast, on Saturday afternoon.
The gang fired shots while making their getaway and the police's Thembeka Mbhele says this is when the boy was shot in the stomach.
"They fired several shots. They ended up shooting a nine-year-old child who was [on the balcony] in the same yard. The child was injured and rushed to the hospital," she says.
