Search ongoing for remaining north KZN suspect

A police search is underway for a prisoner who escaped from custody, in northern KwaZulu-Natalyesterday.

The man was among five suspects who fled from a police van while being transported to a Vryheid facility.
Five suspects from Ngome - in northern KZN - held up police while they were being transported to a facility in Vryheid yesterday.
Four of them were arrested again last night following an intense police search in the area. Officers have also recovered the two firearms that were taken during the incident.
Police say the group faces charges of rape, robbery and assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.
The re-arrested prisoners are expected to appear in court today - facing charges of robbery and escaping from lawful custody.
