Search for abandoned Durban baby's family

Police are looking for the family of a now 2-month-old baby girl who was abandoned at a Durban hospital in June.
The infant was found by a nurse in one of the toilets at Addington Hospital.
The police's Thembeka Mbhele says a child abandonment case has been opened.
"It is alleged that on the morning of June 28, a baby girl was found in the toilets at Addington Hospital. The police were immediately informed. The child was about a month old and she was covered with a pink blanket and in good health. The child was taken to a place of safety," Mbhele said.

Police are asking the public to come forward should they have information on the whereabouts of the baby's biological mother.
