68-year-old Latchmi Durgan and her son went missing last week.

Search and rescue officials pulled her body from the dam in the Silverglen Nature Reserve last night.

Her 46-year-old son, Sagren Pillay, is still missing. It is believed Durgan, who was a paraplegic, was stabbed.

Her son's car was found abandoned at the reserve on Thursday, prompting a search in that area.

Durgan's daughter, Kogi Reddy says they were distraught when they received the news last night.

"I assumed she was alive. But it was the other way around. Her body is in a terrible state. My sister and I are hanging in there and giving each other comfort. I also have the support of family and friends," she said.

Reddy says they now just want to bring her brother home.

"My brother is still missing and we need to find him as well. We need to have closure. Even if [anyone] has seen him - please contact the investigating officer," Reddy said.
