Search for gunmen who killed 8 in Eastern Cape

Police in the Eastern Cape have mobilised their 72-hour activation plan to arrest those responsible for the killing of eight people.

One was wounded in the two shooting incidents that took place in Kwanobuhle.
The police's Priscilla Naidu says the first incident was reported in Mabi Street in the morning, when the bodies of four men were discovered in car.

A fifth man was found lying outside the vehicle.
She says later - and on another street - the bodies of three men were found also inside a car that had been reported stolen.
"We are probing a possible link to the two incidents. Two cases of murder with multiple victims will be opened."

"General Mene has called on communities to assist police in apprehending those responsible for the carnage and has vowed that through the 72-hour activation plan all resources needed in the investigation will be utilised to swiftly track, trace and arrest the suspects."
