Search continues for well-known KZN skipper
Updated | By Mamelisa Ngcongo
Various law enforcement agencies have teamed up to locate well-known North Coast skipper John Matambu.
The National Sea Rescue Institute says his charter fishing ski boat was found wrecked and burnt out in the vicinity of Dobela on the Mozambique coast.
The NSRI's Craig Lambinon says, however, there were no signs of Matambu or another man reported to have chartered the fishing vessel on Saturday.
The ski boat was meant to return to Sodwana Bay in the afternoon.

"At 22h00, a report was received suggesting that the ski boat may have been spotted as far north as Santa Maria across the Mozambique coastline.
"Telkom Maritime Radio Services are broadcasting a marine radio all ships alert for vessels along the northern coastline of KZN and beyond the South African Eastern coastline border to be on the lookout and to report any sightings of ski-boat MAGNUM TOO.
"Concerns are rapidly increasing. It is not normal for this well-known and respected local skipper to fail to report in and/or to return to Sodwana."
A missing person report has been opened at the Mbazwana police station.
