Technical teams search for cause of water interruption on South Coast

eThekwini Municipality along with uMngeni-uThukela Water say they are working to resolve a challenge of low water volumes from the South Coast Augmentation system to the Amanzimtoti Water Works.
This has affected several reservoirs which supply water to areas south of the eThekwini, including to some parts of the Ugu District.
Siyabonga Maphumulo is the spokesperson for uMngeni-Thukela.

"Technical teams from the eThekwini Municipality and uMngeni-uThukela Water are currently working on identifying the cause of the bulk water supply interruption to undertake the necessary repairs.
Areas that have been affected by the low water volumes include:
- Umgababa
- Mgobhozini
- Mfume
- KwaSoni
- Mashiwase
- Nkwali
- Lovu
- Bhekulwandle
- KwaMakhutha
- Mkhazini
- Ezimbokodweni
- KwaFakazi
- KwaMgendwa
- Mahlathini
- Ohlongeni
