On Thursday, Joburg emergency services spokesperson Robert Mulaudzi said the boy has still not been found.

“We started in the area where the boy fell, at Dlamini 1, in that manhole where he initially fell on Sunday. We had our technicians underground to check on the line itself to whether they might be able to find something.

“We moved to Eldorado Park area on the main reticulation centre where we are looking at our Joburg Water colleagues assisting us to clear one of the pipes so that we can be able to check on it."

"That will be our last stage to see whether on this line we cannot be able to find him.”
