Rescue Care spokesperson Garrith Jamieson says a crowd had surrounded the girl when emergency services arrived.
"Paramedics arrived on scene to find the little girl had sustained multiple serious injuries. Obviously, since it was a child, there was a lot of emotions running high. It was quite a sombre mood once paramedics had declared the little child deceased."
"Unfortunately there was nothing more the paramedics could do for her. At this stage, events leading up to the collision are unknown. SAPS will be investigating further," he says.
