SAWS warns of heatwave over parts of KZN

The SA Weather Service has urged residents to exercise caution, warning of persistently high temperatures over the next few days.

Maluleke says KZN's interior and western parts could record around 40 degrees Celsius highs.

"The areas which will be affected are mainly the western half of the province, so we expect the heatwave to hit areas like Pietermaritzburg, Giants Castle, Ladysmith, Ulundi and Newcastle areas."
A Yellow level 2 warning has also been issued for severe thunderstorms with damaging winds, hail, heavy downpours and excessive lightning expected over the western and central parts of KZN today.
