SAWS confirms heavy rains, dampens tropical storm rumours

The Weather Service has moved to clarify reports about weather activity expected in KZN this weekend.
There have been claims another tropical storm is on its way but weather forecaster Eric Randall says it is not a storm rather a tropical low-pressure system.
"Tomorrow we can expect disruptive rainfall. We are expecting this rainfall to continue throughout the weekend it is a tropical low-pressure system and not a tropical storm. The difference being the storm is far more intense.

He says the tropical low pressure system will bring in that disruptive rain, leading to localised flooding which will cause infrastructure damage, especially to informal and formal settlements.
Residents in the north-eastern parts of the province can expect heavy rains which may lead to flooding.
⚠️Media Release: Further rainfall for areas recently devastated by floods. Dirsuptive rainfall possible in eastern parts of Limpopo and Mpumalanga as well as northern KZN from tomorrow Friday evening (12 Feb 2021) into the weekend. pic.twitter.com/lVgmRGb99T
