Satawu calls off Transnet strike
The latest developments regarding the crippling Transnet strike has seen Satawu calling it off.
But the union has stressed that doesn't mean it's reached a wage agreement with the ports and rail operator.
Majority union Untu finalised and signed a deal of a 6% salary hike earlier this week, leaving Satawu at the bargaining table.
It's been holding out for 13.5% and is adamant about an inflation-related increase.

"Our members are going back to work as of tomorrow morning at 6am," says Satawu’s spokesperson Amanda Tshemese.
"We are not going to sign anything yet with the employer because we still want to further our discussions on the retrenchment clause and privatisation of the entity.
"The union is not going to sign and commit itself on anything that does not have job security, as it is only the working class and the poor that have been negatively affected and not the management."
