SASSA extends temporary disability grant
Updated | By Nothando Mkhize
The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) has assured recipients of the temporary disability grant they will continue to be paid until the end of the year.

Disability grants were supposed to lapse earlier this year but were extended.
This was done to cushion against the pressures brought on by the COVID-19 lockdown.

SASSA has been getting frequent visits from beneficiaries wanting to reapply.
SASSA KZN Sandy Godlwana spokesperson said: "The temporary disability grant which lapsed in July 2020 or were due to lapse during August or October will continue to be paid until December 2020.
"Care dependency grants which were previously extended to October 2020 will not lapse in October but to continue to be paid until December 2020."
