Santaco probing motive for deadly mall shooting in Newlands
Updated | By Noxolo Miya
The South African National Taxi Council says it's launched an investigation into a mass shooting at a Durban rank which left three people dead.
It's understood that suspects who were in a vehicle opened fire at the rank outside a mall in Newlands West.
Three rank marshalls were declared dead at the scene, while seven others were left injured.
Santaco's Sifiso Shangase says they believe they know what the motive behind the attack could have been.

“The source of this incident is operational on the basis that there are two organisations whose jurisdiction is within the mall itself, and it seems to have if there is no concrete agreement between them.
“Which is now leading to a dispute which is currently led to some members being killed.”
