Santaco pleads for info on slain Maritzburg taxi boss

The South African National Taxi Council Taxi has appealed to anyone with information on the murder of a taxi boss to come forward.

Musawenkosi Maphumulo was gunned down at his home near Maritzburg.
“We are basically pleading with those that have seen the incident or who have probably had to come before the law enforcement agencies because we need to put an end to these assassinations."

Santaco's spokesperson in KZN, Sifiso Shangase, says Maphumulo was an important member of their team.
"He was a member of a unit called Hlokomela, which was ensuring that our vehicles were safe on the road. He ensured that our driver complied with the rules and regulations which are pertinent to public transport."
