SANDF gunman in police custody

KZN police say the SANDF soldier who's alleged to have shot a woman dead and wounded three other people in Inanda and Ntuzuma, north of Durban, earlier this week - has handed himself over to authorities.

The 25-year-old suspect had been on the run since the shooting spree on Tuesday. He handed himself over to police last night.

SAPS spokesperson Jay Naicker says the soldier's due to appear in court next week on charges of murder, attempted murder, and kidnapping.
"The 25-year-old suspect was handed over by his lawyer at the Inanda Police Station at 7pm last night. The firearm which was used in the crime was also handed over to the police - and will form part of the investigation," he said.
