Saftu warns govt over 'insulting' wage offer
Updated | By Noxolo Miya
Several public service unions are considering a wage offer
that government has put on the table.
A revised offer of a 3% increase was made on Friday. Unions have been asking for around eight percent.
At least three unions, two of affiliated with the federation Saftu, have rejected the offer.
Saftu's KZN secretary Moses Mautsoe says workers are justified in scoffing at it.

"We think the offer that's been given by the government is an insult and is provoking the public. Right now the parliamentarian has been given an increase without asking anything, they do not have any bargaining council."
Mautsoe says it might result in a strike.
"All our unions are busy taking money and balloting towards this action."
