Sadtu march will not affect learning: Dept
Updated | By Steve Bhengu
Basic Education is hopeful tomorrow's teachers strike will not put the brakes on learning.
The department says schools will keep their doors open, adding that learning is expected to continue without a hitch.
Thousands of teachers in the province are due to join a SADTU led protest in Durban over vacant posts and the slow transfer of funds to schools. They have also raised concern about how the school nutrition programme is being run.

While the department's Scelo Khuzwayo has not revealed details about their contingency plans, he has told Newswatch they are prepared for any eventuality.
"Our plan is that it is going to be a normal day, all our schools will be opened. We will be operating as normal but should it happen that the strike affects us, we do have plans in place to actually make sure that we recover or we make up for the time lost," he said.

Teachers are set to march from King Dinizulu Park to Durban's City Hall tomorrow morning.
