Sadtu applauds KZN teacher who caught matric exam imposter
Updated | By Noxolo Miya
The South African Democratic Teachers Union (Sadtu) has lauded the KZN invigilator who raised the alarm on a would-be matric exam cheater.
The 19-year-old woman was caught before an exam on Monday at Phendukani Full Service School.
The invigilator noticed that the ID photo of the pupil who was registered to write did not match the person sitting for the paper.
The teenage suspect made her first appearance in the Madadeni Magistrate's Court on Wednesday.

She's been charged with fraud.
The teacher's union's Nomarashiya Caluza hopes this sends a strong warning to other matrics.
We are pleased that this was caught at the early stages of exams. There are still many exam days left. This must be a lesson to those who were still planning on doing this in other centres.
"They must know that teachers and invigilators are vigilant. Our schools and exam centres will not be turned into corruption and fraud playground.”
