SACP says decision needed on Gumede matter

The SA Communist Party says it's concerned about eThekwini Municipality whose mayor is on an extended leave of absence.

Zandile Gumede is facing corruption allegations relating to a city tender.
The ANC in KZN announced yesterday, that the 30-day leave of absence she's been on - has been extended.
The party says the committee probing the matter hasn't completed its report to the PEC.

The SACP's Nomcebo Msomi says she hopes the ANC will come to a decision soon.
"We cannot afford for us to come out in a situation where we still remain leaderless - especially after the audit outcomes of the auditor-general who issued and said there's been intimidation from the metro," Msomi said.
