SABC inquiry chair dismisses document leak claims

The chairperson of Parliament's ad hoc committee looking into the SABC board's fitness to hold office - has dismissed reports of a leaked document from the inquiry.

Vincent Smith made the comment after a working document of the committee was given to the media.

He says they've taken the necessary steps to ensure that no information would be made public - until the committee formally releases it.
"From day one we have been consistent as this ad hoc committee, that we will champion the principle of transparency - and we've done so. So by virtue of being transparent, this notion of a leak does not exist - or does not even arise," he said.

He said that the committee's main objective has to be finding a resolution to stopping the "decline of the SABC."
