SA surpasses 16 000 COVID-19 related deaths

South Africa's reached another grim milestone in the coronavirus pandemic.

126 more people diagnosed with COVID-19 have died, taking the national death toll to 16 118.
Of those new fatalities, 54 were recorded in KwaZulu Natal, bringing the total number of deaths in our province to 2 586.

The country's recovery rate has notched up to 89.4% and over 592 904 people aren't infected with COVID-19 anymore.

Meanwhile more than 1 346 new cases have been recorded in South Africa, over the last 24 hours.
