Minister Fikile Mbalula says Cabinet’s approved the replacement of South
Africa’s current driving license card with a more secure version that’s in line
with international standards.
Mbalula made the announcement in Johannesburg on Friday.
He says the current driving license card was introduced in 1998 and contains technology that has become obsolete
Mbalula says the current cards will remain valid until March 2029.
