SA expert resigns from IAAF tribunal, criticises new ruling
Updated | By Portia Cele
A South African professor who has stepped down from the disciplinary tribunal at the IAAF says the federation's recent ruling infringes on athletes' right to human dignity.

Professor Steve Cornelius, who heads the Department of Private Law at the University of Pretoria, says his concern was that he may be required to enforce these regulations as a member of the tribunal.
The world athletics' governing body ruled that female athletes with high levels of testosterone will have to medically reduce these levels months prior to competing.
The rules will apply to the 400m, hurdles, 800m, and 1500m races.

The International Association of Athletics Federations has cited the regulations are a means of creating a "level playing field" for female competitors.
