Spokesperson for the municipality, Sibonelo Bhengu, says they became aware of the case this week and took immediate steps to close and deep clean.
Bhengu says this will affect citizens who had planned to make payment for municipal services.
"During this period we request all residents who wish to pay for their bills to make sure that they pay through EFT and those who need proof of address to come and collect them at the security gate at the municipality.
"We apologise for this inconvenience, however, it's to make sure that our community stays safe," says Bhengu.
