Richards Bay mass murder suspects killed in Ballito shootout

Two suspects linked to a mass murder in Richards Bay have been killed in a shootout with police.
Five people were shot and killed in a parking lot in the Richards Bay CBD Tuesday.

Provincial police spokesperson Robert Netshiunda says officers from the KZN Stability Unit received information on Wednesday about the suspects' whereabouts.
He says their investigation took them to an estate in Ballito.
"The tactically astute police officers penetrated the residence and before they knew it they found themselves under gun fire from the suspects. Police retaliated and at the end of the shootout, two suspects were found to have sustained fatal gunshot wounds.
"The Independent Police Investigative Directorate were summoned to the scene for further investigations. Police investigations into the matter continues and a search for more possible suspects is ongoing."
