Five killed in suspected Richards Bay gang shooting

A manhunt has been launched for at least five suspects who shot and killed five people in Richards Bay.

KZN police spokesperson Robert Netshiunda says the suspects allegedly jumped out of their car in the parking lot of a local shopping centre on Tuesday morning and opened fire.
"Four victims were certified dead at the scene, whilst the fifth one succumbed to gunshot injuries at a local clinic. The suspects reportedly fled from the scene of the crime in a blue VW Polo.

"The motive of the shooting has not been established, although drug-related turf war could not be ruled out."
He's appealed to those with any information pertaining to the whereabouts of the suspects to contact their nearest police station.
