The NPA in KZN’s Natasha Kara says the matter relates to a shooting in Cato Manor where a man and his companion were killed in October.

She says after the incident, Mhlongo picked up the cartridge cases expelled from one of the firearms, removed them from the scene and kept them in his wardrobe.

"This conviction and sentence sends a strong message to people who interfere with the administration of justice thus protecting criminals from the law. The NPA commends the work done by the police investigating team and prosecution.

“We also acknowledge the courage of the community members who are brave enough to speak out on this injustice.”
