Refuse collection service near Verulam resumes
Updated | By Steve Bhengu
Residents in Ottawa, north of Durban, can expect their refuse to be collected again after services halted in the area for about three weeks.
A tender squabble among service providers is believed to be behind the disruption of collection services in the town near Verulam.
This led to angry community members barricading the entrance to the local refuse depot this week. eThekwini's Mandla Nsele says collection has resumed.

"The municipality has put a catch-up programme in place for the affected areas. The programme includes weekend refuse collection. The municipality apologises for any inconvenience caused as a result of the disruption," Nsele said.
