The company’s Prem Balram says clients are currently being taken care of by a sister company.

"We have met with our legal team and we have given them instructions to seek relief from the high court. They are in the process of drawing up papers to move the matter forward," said Balram.

The Private Security Industry Regulatory Authority had previously suspended Rusa in June, but the company was granted interim relief to continue operating until the matter could be heard in court.

PSiRA said in a statement released last night that the private security company remains suspended until all code of conduct enquiries are finalised.

“We are elated that the high court has agreed with the authority that in terms of our statutory mandate, our decision was legally sound. This judgement further reinforces our continued determination to conduct thorough investigations and execute our statutory mandate to regulate without fear or favour, moreover, find a fair balance between public interest and other interests considered by the industry,” said PSiRA CEO Manabela Chauke.
