Rape suspect back in court after 11 years on the run
A rape accused who is back behind bars after 11 years on the run, will appear in the Verulam Magistrates Court, north of Durban, again on Monday.
The man was first taken into custody in 2007.
He was granted bail by the same court but was never heard from again.
He was re-arrested on Thursday.
Police spokesperson Thembeka Mbele says the 41-year-old was originally arrested for the rape of an elderly woman.
