Rape-accused KZN student constable granted bail

A KZN student constable charged with rape as been granted bail of R2000.

He lined up in the Pietermaritzburg Magistrates' Court on Tuesday.

Phaladi Shuping, who is with police investigative directorate IPID, says they arrested the 26-year-old on Friday.
He's alleged to have assaulted his colleague in September:
"The student constables were socialising at their student compound. The accused allegedly raped the complainant after others had gone to sleep. The case against the accused was postponed 15 April 2024."
