Updated | By Lauren Beukes
Electricity Minister Kgosientsho Ramokgopa says they are seeing improvement in the performance of generation units.

He says they are currently able to isolate about six units for particular attention.
“The rate in which the units are failing on their own, and also the efficiency of these units, those are not failing. Are they performing closer to what their designed capacity is?

“Going back to my metaphor of a car, if a car is designed to reach a maximum speed of 100/km, yes, it's moving, but is it reaching that speed, and if that speed is significantly lower, it means in this instant, the efficiency is lower."
Ramokgopa held a briefing on Monday morning on implementing the Energy Action Plan.
