Ramaphosa stands by SONA promise to rebuild economy

President Cyril Ramaphosa has promised to rebuild the economy in a manner that is more inclusive, creates jobs and lifts people out of poverty.
He's been replying to the State of the Nation Address debate during a joint sitting of parliament yesterday afternoon after several speakers emphasised the devastating effect that Covid-19 has had on the economy and on people’s livelihoods.
He said the government is undertaking critical actions to put an end to corruption and build a state that can effectively serve the people.

"This is why we continue to implement relief measures such as the special COVID-19 grant and the UIF ters scheme to provide support to those who need it."
"This is why we forging ahead with economic reforms through the various programmes that we put in place and a lot of progress has already been made. In accelerating the implementation of our economic trajectory."
