Ramaphosa declares 27 December a public holiday
Updated | By Newswatch
We can officially mark our calendars to highlight Tuesday the 27th of December as a public holiday.

President Cyril Ramaphosa made the declaration on Thursday morning.
His office explains it's in lieu of Christmas Day falling on a Sunday.
Whenever a public holiday falls on a Sunday, South Africans get to enjoy it on a Monday.
This year the Monday after Christmas commemorates the Day of Goodwill, which is another public holiday.
The presidency says instead of allowing the days to overlap, where workers lose out on the 12 paid public holidays they're entitled to annually - the president has declared the Tuesday a public holiday as well.
