Ramaphosa bemoans ANC's internal conflicts, factionalism

ANC president Cyril Ramaphosa has bemoaned internal conflicts, party factionalism and decay, saying these remain a great concern.
He says ANC members and leaders acting in their own self-interest have damaged the organisation's standing in communities as a servant of the people.
Ramaphosa was delivering his closing remarks after the ANC wrapped up its two-day national executive council lekgotla this past weekend.
"If we do not make a decisive break with the practices that have caused this decline in our standing, we will cease to be a trusted and effective agent of change,” he said on Sunday.
"The ANC will therefore intensify the fundamental renewal of our movement.
"We will be principled and decisive in ridding our movement from practices that prevent us from serving the people of our country with distinction and honesty."
