Rainy, hot summer ahead for SA
South Africans
across the country can expect a rainy season coupled with “above
normal” rainfall and maximum temperatures in the coming months.
South African Weather Service (SAWS) forecaster Kgolofelo Mahlangu has confirmed that weather predictions indicate that the country is still experiencing the La Nina season.
This weather system is known to bring above-normal rainfall.

“In general, we are expecting above-normal rainfall. We are still in the La Nina season, so that’s what we are looking at from October all the way to February.
This is except for the Namaqua district where we could get just normal rainfall for that area. We are looking at the above-normal maximum temperatures across the country. It’s going to be slightly warmer than usual,” says Mahlangu
The province of KwaZulu-Natal has been subjected to some of the worst floods in April 2022, when close to 500 people lost their lives during the heavy rain and flooding over two days.
Approximately 4 000 people were displaced.
The SAWS has issued yet another alert to KZN for this weekend in the Ilembe, Umzinyathi and King Cetshwayo districts.
