Rain, snow predicted as SA Weather Service warns of icy weekend

The weather office has issued a warning for heavy rains in
parts of KZN this weekend.

The SA Weather Service's forecast includes a combination of icy and wet conditions.
Snow is expected to fall on the high peaks of the Drakensberg on Saturday.
SA Weather Service forecaster Wisani Maluleke says we've got a 60% chance of rainfall in the province on Friday.

"Temperatures are expected to be cold, more especially over the Drakensberg areas.
"Going into Saturday we will still be expecting cloudy conditions with 50% chances of showers and the temperatures as well are expected to drop significantly where we will expect the possibility of snow over the Drakensberg mountain peaks."
"We are also expecting the possibility of heavy rain on Saturday and Sunda mainly over the western parts of KZN and then these weather conditions are expected to improve from Tuesday."
