Raging fire destroys Kwamashu informal settlement

Firefighters are currently battling a blaze at an informal settlement in KwaMashu, north of Durban.

According to a source on the scene, about 100 dwellings have already been destroyed.
KZN EMS paramedic - Rob Mackenzie says they are on scene.

Paramedics have already treated four patients.

Firefighters from the eThekwini fire department are busy battling the blaze.

The cause of the fire is not known at this stage and it will be investigated.
