Protesters close down Mangosuthu Highway
Updated | By Khatija Nxedlana
Metro police and SAPS are monitoring a group of about 50 people who have gathered on the Mangosuthu Highway near the Mangosuthu University of Technology in Umlazi south of Durban.

The group has barricaded the highway in both directions with burning tyres.
It is believed the protests are related to service delivery.
Earlier this week residents of an informal settlement allegedly blocked parts of the road complaining that their electricity had been cut off on Monday.
The Mangosuthu University of Technology had said that no students took part in the protest.
Motorists have been advised to avoid the area.
