Police deployed to Umlazi after protest

Police say officers have been deployed to Umlazi again this morning following yesterday's service delivery protests along the Mangosuthu Highway.

Residents of an informal settlement allegedly blocked parts of the road complaining that their electricity had been cut off on Monday. 

The Mangosuthu University of Technology says the institution will remain open today. 

Management says no students took part in the protest.
