Probe into Westville hospital robbery

Police are investigating a case of robbery following a brazen attack at Life Westville Hospital this morning.

It's understood a gang stormed the Harry Gwala Road facility - making off with thousands of rands worth of goods and personal items.
Police say a security guard at the hospital was approached by four armed robbers travelling in a white vehicle - at around 5am this morning.

He says he was threatened outside - before the gang stormed the facility's wards.
The group held up patients in their beds - stealing their cellphones and cash. They also ripped two TVs from the wall before making their getaway.
Meanwhile hospital management is yet to release a statement.
