Probe launched into Richards Bay train crash

Transnet Freight Rail says recovery efforts continued on Tuesday at the scene of a train collision in Richards Bay in northern KZN.

It's understood that the trains crashed into each other before derailing on Sunday.
It's understood the railcars were transporting export coal.
Investigations are underway into whether a power outage or a signalling issue could have caused the crash.

TFR says teams were immediately dispatched and have been on the ground dealing with the wreckage.
